    Houston Texas based Sean Carnahan started out his music career spinning a wide variety of eclectic house and trip hop at the age of 18 while attending college at UT in Austin, Texas. His first true residency was a weekly held on the legendary 6th street held at a jazz bar called “Stephanie’s.” Sean moved to Houston in early 90s and cut his teeth in the DJ scene of this big city. Within a years he had organized his first crew and was DJing a succession of highly sought out weekly events held at various clubs and bars. Since then, Sean has become a beloved DJ and industry stronghold, performed with 100+ of the top Djs in the world, held residencies in 5 different countries and won best artist/DJ awards for more than a decade. TIMELINE: Balance Roster: Sean was recognized as a top talent in the USA by being added to the highly respected and exclusive Balance Record Pool. This prestigious organization included only 40 members worldwide and membership is elected by existing committee. The Balance membership contains producers and performers such as John Digweed, Sasha, Armin van Buuren, Chris Fortier, Randall Jones, and Danny Tenaglia to name a few of the 40 members. Tastylick: He founded and co-owned Tastylick Studios. A five room electronic music production studio, which was home to many established and aspiring local producers and artists. Including his production mentor and global recording artist/DJ Randall Jones (Tigerhook Corp) and Sean's producer/DJ friends Champa Moore, David Dimes, Nikolai Stepanenko, Andre Morant just to name a few. Sean's recorded productions remain well circulated and found on vinyl pressings and various digital download stores/sites. Off the decks: Outside of DJing, he maintains a blog on electronic events and music (Est. 1996) that has over 169,322 subscribers, and he produces a weekly industry newsletter on music and events covering both touring and local artists followed as the benchmark for his region. Get that degree and use it son: Sean received his Masters in Business/MBA from the University of Liverpool (UK) after attending UT Austin and Harvard. He used his education to bolster his efforts in the music industry, founding the private company 77002/NightCulture which went public in 2008 (Nasdaq: NGHT). The company provided business and consulting services to artists, club owners, venues, producers, managers, labels, agents and event promoters. 77002/NightCulture self produced and promoted hundreds of EDM events and concerts across Texas and the USA featuring the worlds top DJ talent. Sean and his company avidly assisted clients and industry alliances on business plans, marketing campaigns, recording contracts, fundraising projects, event booking and promotional campaigns. Now a public company, Nightculture owns venues and continues to produce hundreds of concerts, events, and massive festivals across the USA each year. Community: An avid supporter of social work and causes, Sean has raised over $300,000 for various causes by donating proceeds from his shows to many local charity and social work committees. His support has a special focus for programs targeting youth, music education and relief aid. One special event, featuring Paul van Dyk headlining, was held within a week of Katrina and provided immediate disaster relief funds to the Red Cross to help them locally to rapidly mobilize assistance. He is known in the community for quickly moving into action to help others, even his competitors, in times of need.
