Biografía

  • Sepalot returns in March 2017 with “Hide&” part one of his brand new diptych album, “Hide&Seek”.
Following a period of contemplation and the break up of his band, Blumentopf, his 5th solo album takes his style one step further into the realm of modern electronic music. A logical step for Sepalot who has developed his sounds a lot since one of his first solo works “Measured Amount” was featured on Rush Hours seminal Future Beats compilation, “Beat Dimensions” alongside artists like Hudson Mohawke, Spacek and Onra. Sepalot has developed an understanding of how to astonish the listener using rhythm and immersive sounds to present us with an exceptional album of left-field club music built on a foundation of real emotion and technical prowess. The elegantly fractured and beat driven music on “Hide&” presents to us a collection of music that delivers on the dance floor, but can still be enjoyed at home. Album opener “Hard Rain” seeps it’s eerie sounds deep into your unconscious and returns hours later when you find yourself humming the chorus. At the other end of the spectrum “Dumb Diip” makes for a moment of unexpected beauty before resolving into a lowdown groove. The kind of track that forces you to move your feet. For Sepalot DJ’ing has always been and remains an art form to him. As curator of his own club nights he personally ensures that there is always a storm on the dance floor. From Philly to Vienna, Moscow to Mexico City Sepalot pays homage to his 1210s and his MPC, diving regularly into a sea of beats and sounds that make up his world. In 2015 he went a step further and collaborated with conceptual artist Alex Dworsky on a synaesthetic exhibition where Sepalot augmented painted street art with sound and atmospheres. His beats and instrumentals can be found across the globe in Hollywood blockbusters such as “Arthur”, Paypal’s online ad campaign, ABCs sitcom Cougar Town or the current trailer to big screen hit “Bridget Jones’ Baby”. On top of this he runs his own radio show “Egotrippin” for german indie station Ego FM. Whatever Sepalot does, it’s held together by his own unique aesthetic, a sonic signature which stamps everything he does as his and his alone. Hidden and Found.
