- Slippery Stairs, the live electronic project of Nick Forté and Stacy Wakefield, marries the innocent joy of New Age melodies to the driving beats of techno with an element of grit from their acerbic gothic roots.Slippery Stairs has been playing live since August 2018, using breakbeats and arpeggiators to keep their neighbors in the Catskills dancing all winter. Nick Forté's musical career has two ongoing threads. As guitar player in hardcore and black metal projects Rorschach and Raspberry Bulbs; and as experimental electronic studio producer with solo projects as well as the collaborations Dawn People, Christmas Decorations, and Felipe and Forte. Forté's solo experimental electronic records include "Enter the Jargon" and "Pasted Lakes" (Schematic Records, 2019 and 2001); "Primordial Forms" (Amish Records, 2015) and "Sky Dripping Venom" (Ruralfaune, 2009) "Overdoes It" (Obsolete Units 2015) and Mongrel Faun (Catholic Tapes, 2012). Forté's collaboration with Peter Negroponte of Guerrilla Toss, Dawn People, released "The Star is your Future" with DFA in 2018. Past projects include Christmas Decorations (Kranky Records) and Felipe and Forte (Sublight, Soft Abuse)
