- London based Drum & Bass DJ , Promoter & co-owner of Nurtured Beatz.You may have heard of DJ Spindall; a longstanding patron DJ of London’s DnB scene and more recently in cohorts with Kolectiv’s DJ Kalm, with their label, Nurtured Beatz Recordings. This enduring member of London’s Drum & Bass community is a heavy contributor to the fabric of the thriving underground scene. Expertly specialising in the deeper side of UK electronic music; Spindall has DJ’ed since the tender age of thirteen, from 1995 where he mixed Jungle and Drum & Bass. Switching it up with some UK Garage during the surge in the genre’s dominance over UK club culture in 1998 and constant requests to play at garage parties; the impressive DJ secured a slot of the award-winning Mac FM after a pleasing crowds at various events, including Exposure and Underground Explosion at the infamous Club Colosseum in Vauxhall.. Renowned as a heavy player on London’s pirate radio circuit, Spindall returned to Drum &Bass in 2005; finding a home at Rude FM shortly thereafter. In 2008, Spindall forged his own event and the future basis of his imprint, Nurtured Beatz, and began to hone his own production talents releasing a collaboration EP with Diamond EyE for Danger Chamber digital in 2011 & In 2012, the fresh producer co-wrote two releases with Nurtured Beatz Recordings co-founder DJ Kalm, including the limited edition 12” white vinyl AA side ‘Taking It Back / Parameters’ with underground favourites DBR UK on the flip for Twisted records. (UK). Spindall and Kalm incorporated their assets and Nurtured Beatz Recordings was born in 2013 with the release of the ‘The Good Turned Ugly’ EP by scene veteran Genotype. Nurtured Beatz have been consistent with their output; flaunting the dark wares of drum & bass’ underbelly to discover and propel new artists whilst securing tracks from the underground’s finest, including Antagonist, Dexta, Mauoq, Incognito, Tephra & Arkoze, Interline,Kyrist, Paragon, Medika, Mystic State Hyroglifics, Interline & many more.
