Biografía

  • Szeir - Soundsystem Music for the Community
Born in Munich, Germany, Malte finds himself surrounded by a vibrant scene that was scratching his curiosity both as a listener and as a contributor. While he goes deeper into the realms of dark rooms, minimal lights and lightly dressed crowds that are precise in their reasonings of presence, it all aligns for him to define the path he is willing to take in his further explorations. His move to the UK sees him adopting a new home in Brighton, place that comes with a baggage of forming experiences and new bonds and connections coming along his way. The ceaseless night-life of both Brighton and London are playing a crucial role in Szeir’s transition to his musical adulthood, Jaded nights fully resonating with his inner idea of an ultimate experience; later to become a part of the project itself. Szeir's released his first solo EP 'Stolperfalle' on Canticle Records, which has received wide support across the Techno community. Prior to that, he contributed to Platform 22's VA 'Elements' with his track 'Lehel'. Fast-paced yet seamlessly organic — this is what comes to mind when thinking of what Szeir’s main musical persona is about. Rooting from 90s to mid 00s techno, he keeps the golden balance between both new and old with leanings towards a rather animated part of the affairs. As seen by him, techno is a soundtrack to our future with its complexity through simplicity being, in fact, what deserves our undivided attention. A culture where community, rebellion and equality are the monolithic principles of sustainability is what Szeir projects through the medium of his contributions.
