The Boogie Cartel

Biografía

  • Born out of the coming together of four like minded friends: Gary Lewis, Tom Armstrong, Saul Wilks and Shaun Dangerfield aka NightMoves. the Boogie Cartel ethos is simple: a ridiculously tasty music policy, ace people, and a love for the party.
With untiring commitment to searching out a colourful spectrum of sounds, from the rarest cuts of New York disco and boogie, through to the amyl nitrate tinged tones of acid house, the foursome have held down residencies at some of London’s finest crucibles of underground music, tentatively building an oldskool party rhetoric where people from all backgrounds come together and leave their egos at the door. Their unique mix of sounds has seen the collective play everywhere from the infamous NYC Downlow at Glastonbury to venues across Europe, and their debut EP release on Trip City records was met with high praise. It's often said that you should never trust DJs that don’t dance, a sentiment that doesn’t apply to Boogie Cartel – if they weren’t having it behind the decks you can be sure they’d be on the floor next to you.
