- The Control Freakz are 2 Irish DJs from Dublin (Chris B & Paul Byrne) Signed to Plasmapool Records in Germany They have gotten Huge Support Internationally on their Bootlegs, & have had 2 Number 1's on Juno.co.ukChris & Paul both had their own Radio & DJ Careers over the last 10 years Both running Gigs and Holding down various DJ Residencies Chris was always more focused on the Production end of things, while Paul was focused on Radio Seperatley they have DJ'ed in the likes of The Wright Venue, The Academy, Tripod, Andrew’s Lane, Dublin Castle, The National Show Centre, The Mansion House & many more, And Further afield in Mambo, The Ibiza Rocks Hotel & Plastik (All in Ibiza) They teamed up about a Year & a half ago to work on some tracks. Paul was always very interested in Production, and has learnt a lot since working with Chris. They use Ableton to Produce the tracks with various Hardware & software Synths. Paul works as a Full Time Radio Presenter with FM104 & East Coast FM, while Chris runs his own Production & Recording Studio. The first production they did together was a Bootleg Rework of an Oldskool favourite for both of them ‘Punchunella – San Trancisco’ They also did Bootlegs of Planet Perfecto’s Bullet In The Gun & BT’s Flaming June. The Bootlegs got support from some Huge International names. They did all this under the name ‘Chris B & Paul Byrne’ but they decided to change direction & start using the Alias ‘The Control Freakz’ The duo have since went on to produce Bootlegs of legendary tracks Faithless ‘We Come One’ and Layo & Bushwacka ‘Love Story (vs Finally)’ which has been getting support from the likes of Armin Van Buuren, Roger Sanchez, Cosmic Gate, Tom Novy, Robbie Rivera, Andi Durrant (Capital FM – UK), Steve Smart (Kiss FM – UK), Andy Norman (Hed Kandi), Felix Leiter (Hed Kandi/Cr2), Reuben Keeney, Jesse Voorn, D.O.N.S., Meck, Joe T Vanelli, Jenny Greene (RTE 2FM), Orla Feeney (RTE 2FM/Pulse), Christian Homan (RTE Pulse), Al Gibbs (FM104), Frank Jez (FM104) & John Gibbons (Spin 1038) Their Debut Track ‘Get On Up’ is out on Plasmapool’s ’12 inch Recordings’ was Released in July & went to No.17 in The Progressive House Releases Chart on Beatport.com & No.1 on The Progressive House Chart, & No. 1 in the Juno Recommends Chart on Juno.co.uk Their 2nd track ‘Control Freak’ is out now on ‘Plasma Digital’ & reached No.1 in the Electro House Chart on Juno & in the Overall Top 10 (of All Genres) More Bootlegs coming soon & also an Album early 2012 For more info check their Website @ www.TheControlFreakz.com & for Bookings email [email protected]
