- The Magnet - Aeon Festival / JamTheChannel / Southwestunderground.netThe Magnet aka Exeter DJ & promoter James Gill has been a key figure in the underground electronic music movement in Exeter for longer than he would like to admit. As a DJ he specialises in raw house, techno & bass heavy sounds. James has played all over the Southwest starting off at house & free party's before starting Exeter house night Soundcheck. Soundcheck ran for 5 years at various venues across the city with guest's such as Switch, Inland Knights, James Holroyd, Bionic Bump Band, Sonny Wharton + more gracing the decks. He was also a resident for the longest running breakbeat night in the UK Beatz & Bobz. Whilst he played alongside James Lavelle, Plump DJ's, Aquasky, Soul Of Man, Cut La Roc, Rogue Element, Dreadzone, Atomic Hooligan, Krafty Kuts, A-Skills, Slyde, Soul Of Man, Alex Patterson, Hybrid & many many more. Also a regular guest at many a Southwest night for Dance!Dance!Dance - Plymouth, Zero - Exeter, Squeeze - Exeter, Magic Hat Stand - Exeter, Magik Bullet - Plymouth, Rocket - Exeter, Gobbstopper - Taunton & Butt Wild Cornwall's first ever Breaks night run by his long time best friend, dj partner & co promoter James Hewson aka Bump. + the odd excursion across the country with a legendary gig at Heaven - London for Fingerlickin Records & Atom in Leeds for the Speculum boys. He is no stranger at festivals either with performances in the Dance Village at Glastonbury for the last 4 years and slots at Glade Festival, Beautiful Days & at the Aeon Festival where JamTheChannel hosted the dance tent's for 6 years. Over the past 7 years James has been promoting Exeter's JamTheChannel, A collective of rave generators, party boys and girls, DJs, producers, radio presenters, mookers, boat bumpers and field funkers.
