After realising they both held a deep obsession with techno and all things modular, it wasn’t long before the project took off, with the two members commuting between Lancashire and the West Country to develop their ideas. In its relatively short tenure, TRAXSHNN has already found its own unique voice, with stripped down hardware jams benefiting from huge doses of modular wizardry. Their live sets deliver a heavyweight tussle of hard-hitting body shots, with cerebral noodling and stretched and distorted vocal extracts continuously evolving throughout, keeping the mind alive with unfamiliar sensations. This year saw the duo’s debut on Powerful Recordings with three searing live cuts, providing a snapshot into the work they’ve been producing of late. Mastered from uncut live jams, the three tracks capture the hectic energy of TRAXSHNN in the live setting, with technically precise, micro sounds riding on top of raw, degraded percussion and a brutal low end.
