- Tweeter is a DJ & Music Producer. He has been part of the most iconic electronic music events in Chile. His performances are a mixture of electronica rhythms with psychedelic sounds.At the beginning of the 80´s Tweeter recorded his tapes while listening to the radio in search of new music, then he would play them in every music stereo around. Having this new hobby, he started to work in a local audio services store, getting closer to audio equipment and sound effects. That´s how he had created his first mix tapes, while setting up speakers and lights for different events. Soon after he was introduced to the DJ of his hometown club, where he managed to be a resident and to learn the art of mixing with vinyl and create a rhythm connection that conquered the dance floors. Synthesizers and beat box music influenced his style. He played pop music remixes with underground music sounds, touches of hi energy, italo-disco and the beginnings of house music, the foundation of today´s electronic dance music. By the end of the 80s Tweeter wanted to be a DJ at a radio station to focus on the new sounds that were emerging and take a deep dive on recording production. He worked part time between clubs and radios back then. After three seasons of producing a radio show with music from his mix tapes he goes back to the club scene as resident of a new club, where he could blend elements of pop, acid jazz and electronica. By the second half of the 90s the audience didn't welcome well his cutting-edge ideas, they preferred massive hits instead of fresh sounds. Anyway, Tweeter managed to create the right mix between the two styles and get people excited with the new hits from international dance floors. By 2001, Tweeter settles down in Santiago to start the live act Freakyfgroove project, together with DJ Wask. The band made a couple of indie records and got to be part of the “Neruda Electrónico” compilation. His work as DJ and music designer with DJ Wask gave him the Pulse and Heineken Thirst 2004 Awards, while opening the show for the dutch DJ Tiesto, the world No. 1 DJ at the time. The next year they went to Spain to present their work, while doing remixes for “Robot” from the Mexican group Telefunka. After getting immersed in the European sound they return to America to play at SAMC in Lima and Santiago, Chile. In 2006 he starts another project with Paul Morrison: Skyfish Lab, an experimental indie record label under which they would edit more than 100 references on the Beatport, Juno and Traxsource websites. Their creations mix electronic music with techno and house sounds with the influence of rock and soul, and many psychedelic touches. Tweeter has worked with Chilean artists such as Dinamique, Felipe Valenzuela, Felipe Venegas and Arturo Hevia, with the Mexican Sergio Soroa, the dutch duo El Mundo & Satori, and the Argentinian-Swiss producer Cristián Lange. Tweeter has been playing among the most recognized DJs and producers from around the world, at concerts, parties and festivals like Sensation White, Misteryland and most every edition of Creamfields Chile.
