Varon V is a London based DJ with over a decade of experience behind the turntables. His tune selection provides dance floor enthusiasts with a fusion of deep grooves and bass-fuelled rhythms. V’s inimitable sound is heavily influenced by his upbringing, which was set to the soundtrack of Dub, Reggae, Ska, Lovers Rock, Soul, Rare Groove and all in-between. This, alongside his later stints on the London party scene, is reflected in his ever-evolving music collection and productions. Discovering dance music in the early 90's while tuning into pirate radio stations, V locked on to his love for tracks like Jonny L "Hurt You So" and SL2 "Way in My Brain" - with its borrowed MT40 bass line from the Sleng Ting riddim track. These became the first pieces of vinyl added to V's music collection, which has since spanned many different genres. In 2012 Varon was noticed by Egg Ldn and went on to become a weekly resident over a five-year period. Aside from gigs abroad and playing at music festivals such as Bestival, over the years V has spun for many of London's infamous venues and promoters including Turnmills, Ministry of Sound, Pacha and Sosho where he also held a residency [Fridays 08 / Zaki & Manish]. This all came after V had cut his teeth at some of the capitals now redeveloped underground haunts, honing his mixing skills along with tuning his ear - influencing his creative journey as he went. The Broad selection of music in his collection has also seen V play events for Brands to include Nike, Hunter, Swarovski, Tiger Beer, Rizla, Lovebullets and Levis. After a short break, V returns with added zeal and focus. Summer 2017 saw Varon make his RM1 debut at Fabric for the legendary WYS crew, along with a 10hr b2b session in Croatia for the Mazi showcase and Sonus after party. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for future projects from one of London's grassroots groovers.
