“Gooooood DJ, Well worth a punt” Eats Everything.
Winner of Fatboy Slim and LWE Events 2015 DJ competition; you’ll never hear another set quite like Wax Worx’s…
His breakthrough into the scene began when his first track ‘One House’ came to the attention of Eats Everything, who dropped it at Glastonbury Live on Radio 1. Spanish big cat Coyu quickly signed it for his Suara imprint, and it went on to receive huge support, including a spin from the boss Carl Cox when he played it at the closing party of his Music is Revolution night at Space.
In 2016 he supported Fatboy Slim at Tobacco Dock after beating 1000’s of hopefuls by winning his ‘Smile High’ DJ competition with LWE Events, played alongside Seth Troxler at the Brighton Music Conference after party, headlined Wildlife Festivals Kopparberg Stage and played on the Space Ibiza farewell tour when it landed in his hometown of Brighton, along with a string of high profile releases on labels such as Low Steppas Simma, Mihalis Safras, Playmobil and remixing for the legendary Rhythm Masters.
Having already cemented his name as one to watch 2017 has been quite a year for Wax Worx. He kicked off the year launching his label ‘Shanghaied’ with his own track ‘Bump Shake’ which was quickly picked up by Radio 1’s Monki and premiered on her BBC show. Soon after he found out that his unofficial remix of the Human Resource classic ‘Dominator,’ was being hammered by Techno king Paco Osuna, and had been a mainstay of his sets for over 6months! With such high demand for the track the summer saw it receive an official release on Armada Subjekt and became one of the top selling and streamed tracks ever on the label, then highlighted by Mixmag when Eats Everything kicked off his set with it at the re-opening of Warehouse Project in Manchester.
As the year drew to a close his production continued to gain high critical acclaim, played by some the most heavyweight DJs around today, including Supernova, Claude Von Stroke, Solardo, Sante and Jamie Jones to name a choice few. Having now developed his own unique sound, it finally reached the ears of the ‘King Of Space’ Steve Lawler, who singled out his production style as ‘creatively different’ applauding his work and signing 3 tracks to VIVa Limited, ensuring Wax Worx’s unstoppable rise throughout 2018
Wax Worx has come a long way since his early days working in a record store in Vancouver, where he gained invaluable experience behind the decks, playing the biggest clubs and festivals in Canada, plus a 7 night a week residency for Ministry of Sound in Egypt, this has created a depth of DJ experience that truly shines through on every level, making him into one of House music’s fastest rising stars………………….
