He has played across North America and Europe. Rob has since returned from Berlin and released a heady collection of wobbly tracks on Archipel with 2009 holding several new releases including one on the quirky Frankie Rec label with a track included on <span style="font-weight: bold;">Fabric 046 by Claude Vonstroke</span> as well as a forthcoming EP with Atomiq. Old zombie film soundtracks had fun with a roland drum machine on <span style="font-weight: bold;">2CB</span>. &nbsp;</p> <p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"> DAVID LAST (Konque, Staubgold, Wolf+Lamb, The Agriculture) </span> <p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-weight: bold;"></span> David Last makes tracks which combine dancefloor energy with the deeper-leaning funk of dancehall, latin music, dub, and hip hop. Since 2004 he has become known for his instantly recognizable soundcraft and a unique sense of rhythm. While many other producers conform to genre exercises, Last has followed his own path and developed a personal style that is undeniably his own. His full length releases with <span style="font-weight: bold;">Staubgold (Berlin) and The Agriculture (NYC)</span> have gained critical acclaim and a sizable cult following in Europe, the USA, and Japan. He has contributed singles and remixes to numerous labels including <span style="font-weight: bold;">Francois K's WaveTec (NYC), Audio.NL (Rotterdam), Wolf + Lamb (NYC), The Social Registry (NYC), Powershovel Audio (Tokyo) and Geometric Deck (Osaka).</span> His own label Konque started releasing eclectic techno and leftfield soundscapes in 2008. His performance at this year's <span style="font-weight: bold;">MUTEK Piknic Electronic </span>started some new buzz, and was a top favorite of the Piknic crew. David is also a visual artist, and a co-curator of Devotion, a new art gallery opening in Williamsburg this fall.</p> <p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;">Links</p> <p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"><a target="_blank" href="http://www.davidlast.net">http://www.davidlast.net</a><a target="_blank" href="http://www.konque.com/releases/KQ002.html"> http://www.konque.com/releases/KQ002.html</a><br /> <br /> -<br /> This week residents <span style="font-weight: bold;">Alex Ward and Lisa Fox (Subliminal Broadcast)</span> will be selecting music ranging from Techno, House, Dub and Minimal.</p> <p style="padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"><span style="font-size: 11px; font-family: 'lucida grande';"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Water Taxi Beach, Long Island City (LIC)&nbsp;</span>is the place that New Yorkers unwind all summer long without leaving the city.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Offering the best views of the Manhattan skyline this side of The Donald's chopper, this 44,000 square foot beach with 900 tons of sand, Boasts brilliant sunshine by day, family friendly atmosphere during the afternoon, a tent for shade, volleyball nets, and music, and entertainment.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />After dark, Water Taxi Beach is a playground for the 21+ crowd with live music, djs, as well as cultural and electronic music events.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /><br />Water Taxi Beach, LIC is located at the New York Water Taxi Hunters Point Ferry stop.&nbsp;&nbsp;<br /> <p style="text-align: center; padding: 0px; margin: 0px;"><a style="color: #0088be; text-decoration: none;" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.myspace.com/watertaxibeach"><img style="vertical-align: bottom; text-decoration: none; border: initial none initial;" src="http://www.the-joint.net/images/myspace.png" border="0" height="40" width="191" /></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<a style="color: #0088be; text-decoration: none;" rel="nofollow" href="http://twitter.com/water_taxi" target="_blank"><img style="vertical-align: bottom; text-decoration: none; border: initial none initial;" src="http://www.the-joint.net/images/twitter-white.jpg" border="0" /></a>&nbsp;&nbsp;<a style="color: #0088be; text-decoration: none;" rel="nofollow" href="http://www.facebook.com/watertaxibeach" target="_blank"><img style="vertical-align: bottom; text-decoration: none; border: initial none initial;" src="http://www.the-joint.net/images/find_us_on_facebook_badge.gif" border="0" height="38" width="128" /></a></p>
