Only a year on since its inception, Sun Cycle Festival celebrates another lap around the sun a little differently in 2021 taking over the Sidney Myer Music Bowl on January 30th 2021. This special edition will feature esteemed psychedelic jazz enthusiasts Mildlife, Hometown dancefloor favourite making her return from Europe CC:DISCO!, Naarm based selector C.FRIM, Wax’o Paradiso, Izy & more.

Produced by the respected minds behind Crown Ruler and WAT Artists, the carefully curated lineup is reflective of inclusivity without compromising on quality. A permeable exploration of the wide tapestry of dance culture from soul and jazz tipped music to the boundless potential of electronica, with influences from around the world.
Under the nourishing aura of Melbourne’s sun, Sun Cycle will transform the iconic Sidney Myer Music Bowl into an imaginative space for freedom in dance and interaction.
A year that also highlighted the enduring struggle for First Nations and BIPOC people, Sun Cycle will also be a statement against racism.
Statement from the organisers: “We dance on land that was forcibly taken from Aboriginal people. We will mark the day with a significant Welcome To Country,, a moment we encourage all of our patrons to engage with and reflect on. The messages of equality and sustainability will be a common-thread through not only our lineup but the environment we come together in.”

In a transformed world, the organisers ensure that health and safety continues to be a priority as they impose new strategies to enhance the customer experience while maintaining social distancing and health practices. The organisers remain hopeful that further regulations will be eased prior to January 30th. However various formats are also being considered to ensure a safe and enjoyable event no matter what the circumstance.
